Today was awards day at school and he walked away with certificates for chorus, mathematics, honor roll, and homework. (They gave an award to kids who completed their homework all year. I kinda thought that you were supposed to do that ... )

I am so proud of my boy. As well as being crazy smart, he's a hard worker and puts his all into everything he does.

Oops :(

I made a cake this morning for a visit with some friends and was not quite cleaned up when they arrived. I left the egg carton (with 3 empty shells in it) on the kitchen table and my boy grabbed it, picked up an eggshell, and stuck his fingers in his mouth. Luckily I was right there and had Benadryl in him within 60 seconds. He still broke out in some pretty nasty hives on his face, neck, and wrists. Bad Mama.

Out of Gas

We were not far from home and waiting for the lights to change at a busy intersection and they just had to sit down or they weren't going to make it. I think the exact words were "I can't take this anymore".

She likes to look at the lobsters in the supermarket. This one climbed up on the back of another and I swear it was staring at her, lifting up onto its back legs when she got close to the glass. I wonder what the scientific knowledge of lobster-human communication is ....

Graduation Day

It was a big day. This was the culminating moment, but I have to share the moments leading up to it.



As she walked up to receive her "diploma", her mortar board slipped off her (freshly washed) hair. She continued up, her teacher righted the headwear and then she said, "I want to start over". She went back to her seat, the teacher called her name again and this time it was perfect. It was just a quintessential Faybie moment.
